If you don’t see a name next to the county you are in, would you be willing to take on this task? WLLI fundraiser - WLA 2009

Hi, grads of the Wyoming Library Leadership Institute!

Many of you know that the Wyoming Library Leadership Institute (WLLI) is hanging in the balance--in great need of funding for continuation. Cynthia Twing, current Wyoming Library Association President and 2001 WLLI graduate, met with a group of graduates in July to discuss the future of WLLI. One of the outcomes of that meeting was the decision to hold a fundraiser based on the popular (and FUN) county basket fundraiser that took place last conference for the Debbie Iverson Leadership Scholarship.

I have been asked to organize the fundraiser and my first order of business is to gather volunteers to help with the fundraiser. I will not be able to fully attend the conference this year and will need help to not only solicit baskets and items, but also for manning the table (selling tickets and at the end scrambling to get baskets to winners and/or to people who can deliver them to winners).

If you would like to help with fundraiser, please CONTACT ME NO LATER THAN SEPTEMBER 1, 2009. I will then go through how we did things last year. We can brainstorm ways to do it all better or differently and then get to work gathering together the baskets.

I will create the raffle tickets. (If you would like me to send you some tickets to print and sell ahead of time, let me know.) This is what I will place on the ticket to describe the fundraiser:
This fundraiser is to provide for the Wyoming Library Leadership Institute (WLLI) in the summer of 2010. WLLI graduates have experienced the benefits of this leadership program. They believe the Wyoming Library Community deserves the opportunity to grow their own leaders to nurture individuals and create an environment of support. They have been able to work with nationally known presenters who have helped individuals to recognize their leadership style, learn communication and team building skills, and create state-wide connections.

Because past funding sources for WLLI are unavailable, graduates of this worthy program are making personal donations. Please join them in making a contribution to the future of WLLI.
Thank you for any consideration to help WLLI continue!
